Placebo at Monheimer Sommer 2024
On August 17, 2024, the British alternative rock band Placebo performed at Monheimer Sommer, organized by Monheimer Kulturwerke GmbH. The open-air concert took place at Baumberger Bürgerwiese, with Tontechnik Kaufmann managing the sound reinforcement. Their expertise, combined with advanced TT+ Audio systems, ensured an outstanding auditory experience.
A TT+ Audio line-array system was deployed to cover the entire audience area. The main PA featured 12 GTX 12 loudspeakers per side, supported by three GTX 10 loudspeakers per side as outfill to maintain consistent coverage. Additionally, six GTX 10 loudspeakers were placed as frontfill to provide clear and balanced sound in the front rows. For powerful low-frequency reproduction, 20 GTS 29 subwoofers were configured in a cardioid setup. This minimized unwanted stage reflections while delivering even and controlled bass response.
The entire system was powered by TTR Ampracks equipped with XPS 16 KD amplifiers. The setup was integrated into TT+ Audio’s RDNet software, enabling real-time monitoring and fine-tuning throughout the concert. The result was exceptional clarity and consistency across the venue. From the front rows to the outer edges, the GTX 12 and GTX 10 loudspeakers delivered a transparent and detailed sound experience. The ease of use provided by the RDNet system also streamlined technical operations, allowing for efficient workflow.
