Harmonizing Georgian Heritage with RCF’s Acoustic Excellence at Adjarabet Arena

In the vibrant city of Batumi, Georgia, the Adjarabet Arena stands as a premier modern stadium, accommodating 20,035 spectators. This state-of-the-art facility serves as the home ground for FC Dinamo Batumi and has also hosted matches for the Georgian national football and rugby teams.
The journey of the Adjarabet Arena began on January 21, 2018, when construction commenced on an eight-hectare site near the former car assembly factory in Batumi. Designed by the Turkish firm Bahadır Kul Architects and built by Anagi Construction Company, the stadium was envisioned to meet the stringent standards of UEFA’s Category IV classification. The design draws inspiration from the swirling motions of traditional Georgian dances, particularly the Khorumi, with its exterior featuring overlapping panels that resemble scales, creating a dynamic visual effect when illuminated at night.
The construction process spanned over two and a half years, culminating in July 2020. However, the official inauguration was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and eventually took place on October 27, 2020.
Beyond its primary function as a football venue, the Adjarabet Arena is equipped to host a variety of cultural events, reflecting its multifunctional design. A critical aspect of the stadium’s infrastructure is its state-of-the-art audio system, designed to provide an immersive auditory experience for spectators. This system was meticulously planned and executed by Smarthouse and Office LLC, the official RCF distributor in Georgia.
The installation comprises [144] units of RCF’s P 5228-L loudspeakers, strategically positioned to ensure uniform sound distribution across all seating areas. These high-performance speakers are powered by [18] QPS 9600 amplifiers, known for their reliability and efficiency. To manage the complex audio routing and processing requirements, six DX1616 digital audio matrix processors were integrated into the system.
Reflecting on the project, Konstantine Beruchashvili, Managing Partner of Smarthouse and Office LLC, stated, “The Adjarabet Arena project was a significant milestone for us. Collaborating with RCF allowed us to implement an audio system that not only met but exceeded international standards, providing an unparalleled experience for all attendees.”
