RCF provide premium sound reinforcement for the Outdoor Stage and the Press Room of the Italian Song Festival

The Sanremo Music Festival is Italy’s most popular live music event, captivating the nation annually since 1951. Held in the coastal city of Sanremo and broadcasted live by the national emittent RAI to millions of viewers, the festival has become a cultural institution and the longest-running televised music competition in the world. Notably, Sanremo’s grand success and format even inspired the creation of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, cementing its significance on the international stage. Over the decades, Sanremo set the standard for live televised music productions, with an unmatched technical quality, a live orchestra, high quality audio and full 4K video production.
Sanremo’s live events aren’t confined to the main stage at Teatro Ariston – the city comes alive with music. In Piazza Colombo, the heart of Sanremo, an outdoor stage sponsored by Suzuki hosts performances that run together with the main show. The main PA featured [24] modules of TT+ Audio GTX 12 line array, supported by [12] high-performance GTS 19 subwoofers and powered by robust XPS 16K amplifiers. Complementing the main arrays, [18] additional RCF HDL 26-A line array modules were strategically placed to provide even sound coverage throughout the expansive space, ensuring consistency and depth regardless of audience position.
In parallel, the Press Room was outfitted with a dedicated audio solution designed to deliver pristine sound quality in a controlled indoor environment. RCF HDL 26-A line arrays formed the backbone of the system with [18] modules, supplemented by [06] RCF TT 25-CXA and [06] RCF TT 052-A to extend coverage. This configuration allowed journalists and media representatives to capture every nuance of the live performances and press conferences. Centralized control via RDNet enabled seamless monitoring and real-time adjustments across both the outdoor and press environments, ensuring optimal performance throughout the event.
Piano e Forte, who won the tender for the project, expertly managed the installation and integration of the audio systems, ensuring that every component worked in perfect harmony. This collaboration, supported by TT+ Audio equipment provided by ORANGE S.R.L., highlights a shared commitment to technical excellence. Sanremo once again set a new benchmark in live event audio, delivering an outstanding audio experience that honored its rich history.
